This is accomplished through documentation that meets SAR genealogical standards and requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SAR welcomes qualified applicants regardless of race, age, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, or place of residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As stated in the SAR Bylaws:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAny male shall be eligible for membership in the SAR who is a citizen of good repute in the community; and a lineal descendant of an ancestor who was at all times unfailing in loyalty to and rendered acceptable service in the cause of American Independence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In general, the SAR recognizes qualifying patriotic service performed between April 19, 1775, and November 26, 1783, with certain exceptions as defined by the Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We Can Help<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tracing your lineage and documenting a Patriot ancestor may seem challenging, but you do not have to do it alone.
